Earliest musical Influences?

1. Was through being brought up in a musical family?

2. Was it through having or being forced to learn to learn a musical instrument?

3. Was it through listening to your mother and fathers records,or discussions as to who they liked?

Who was your musical idols as a child/ Teenager?

4. Was it James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Stanley Clarke

5. The Commodores, Earth, Wind and Fire, Fleetwood Mac, etc.

Or was it a Particular Sound?

6.The Sound of Philadelphia, Stax, Motown, or the Hiphop influence or certain Rock music influences?

I was forced to play Piano, and went onto learn the Saxophone as well....

My parents also had a influence on what I listen to today.
Their music ranged from Gladys Knights and the Pips, right through to Blondie. Both of which I used to dance around the "Kitchen" to aged 3 Years old...

How did you get into the World of Djing?

7.Was it through taking part in school party ?

8.Djing at a relatives party

9.Or at a local youth club in your area?

10.Where?.....

I used to do tapes for School Discos and then Teenage parties.Since I got my decks, I've played at House parties in the Nottingham and Guildford area (England).

I am thinking that in the future to branch out into clubs, if anyone will have me!!!

10.What styles of musis do you prefer to play today?

I love all House music with Soul elements inside it, and I believe that you don't have to have vocals for something to become Soulful.

To me its more of a vibe or a feeling. I'm also a sucker for a great basslines. I guess my style is a mix of Garage Dubs and vocals, with some Deep House music thrown in for good measure

11.Have you managed to travel as regards to being a DJ within the music?

Can you tell us where??

No...

12.What do you think of the scene within the Uk and then Europe? Is it encouraging, or have we still a lot to learn from the Americans? This includes DJs .....as well as producers

In the Uk, there aren't enough decent nights for my liking,
although obviously its all due to individual tastes.
The Nottingham scene is moving in the right direction at the moment.
However there are very few decent Big clubs with the exception of DIY'S
monthly nights at Essence.
However, if your prepared to look there are some good small nights going off using local talent.

The commercialisation of the club scene over the past few years or so has removed that intial element of togetherness and unity, as the "Lager or Beer lads"
battle to get into what a few years ago would have been termed, "Underground". This is a bad thing, but it may well be good if it forces the music back underground
where it will be appreciatied by music lovers, rather than those who are trying to remain trendy, or just out to pull the ladies. Anyway enough of my ranting......

Club Wise, I don't often get to hear the soft of stuff I'm really into.
The Marcus Garvey Center in Nottingham, England ,
puts on some good nights and anything involving DIY is worth checking out.
Except for the odd visit bt a good dj to an otherwise poor night.
The Garage scene in Nottingham is not very healthly.
Deep House music though is flourishing however. In fact Nottingham appears to be the Deep House capital of the Uk.

Its great to see Europe becoming more involved with the music, particulary the Uk. Perhaps one day British House will lose its Links to Cheesy Trash
and be renounced for quality House music - certainly this prospects is more and more likely. The emergence of Drum and Bass scene from the Uk is also very exciting
Some of the tracks on the Jazzier side of things are simply astounding.

13.Which giant within this world of House music would you like to work with ?
Masters of Work, Tony Humpheries, Blaze, Frankie Knuckles, Victor Simmonelli,MK... who?

14. Who are you favourite artists within this music

There's a lot of great music around at the moment. I like the Kings of Tommorrow Sound;
Kerri Chandlar sound who always turns up the goods!!!
When Blaze produce a good track, boy is it good.
And I totally love Alexander Hope vocals talents.
On the labels front, Freetown are great, along with their subsidiary
Nuphonic Records have been releasing some great stuff at the moment,
and Slip and Slide are on a roll at the moment.

From the USA Perscription Records is an abolsutely superb label. Newsish labels such as Distant Records, Guidance Records and Vinyl Peace records are also shaping up very nicely

Thanks for taking part in this Interview!

Hope you enjoy the tape. Let me know if you play it on your show!!! See ya!!
